Erin Mills, LMSW
If you are feeling disconnected, alone, or that you don’t quite fit, I hope
you will allow me to help you bring your most authentic self into your life and relationships, nurture your internal resources, and develop new ways of being in the world that feel better to you. You may be struggling with relationship difficulties, anxiety, anger, depression, shame, attachment or identity issues, or trying to sort out the impact of painful experiences in your past. Whatever brings you to therapy, I welcome your whole self.
I am a graduate of Columbia University's School of Social Work and am trained in Psychoanalysis, DBT, CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
Areas of focus include:
Depression (lack of energy, hopelessness, sadness)
Life transitions (emerging adulthood, moves, breakups)
Self-esteem (lack of confidence, insecurity, harsh inner critic)
Shame-inducing experiences (being bullied, abused, belittled or discriminated against)
Body image/disordered eating
Addiction
Traumatic experiences (sexual, emotional, physical abuse)
Relationship difficulties (sense of isolation and loneliness, difficulty making friends, relationship disconnection)
Sexuality and gender (intimacy, body image, gender roles, sexual orientation, kink)
Fulfillment in life (difficulty finding meaning in life, chronic unhappiness)
My style is collaborative, warm, and inquisitive – I am deeply curious about your experience and do my best to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore and try out new ways of coping. You can reach me at: erinmillstherapy@gmail.com
